From the town of Lostine, off of Hwy 82, turn south on Lostine River Road and drive about 18 miles to the Two Pan Trailhead. You can park your car there and get your packs ready. Expect to see hikers, and adventure outfitters with their pack animal trailers unloading their mules for excursions. NW forest pass is required to park at the trailhead and you'll want to complete the self-issued wilderness permit.
If you are interested in having your gear hauled up for you, I recommend Del Sol Wilderness Adventurers service. They offer one of the best services in the area. They offer their clients the safest and most well trained stock in the business. You can meet them at the Two Pan Trail head with all your gear, and they will pack it up for you and have it sitting at your camp site waiting for you when arrive.
The first 3 miles travels along the East Lostine River. You'll soon reach an open meadow with a beautiful stream running along side the trail.
Your first peak at the spectacular Mirror Lake. The perfect place to set up your camp for the night.
Continue pass Mirror lake through a corridor of wild flowers and rock walls and you'll get a glimpse of Mocassin Lake. The perfect place to cool off with a refreshing high lakes swim!
